Tile is a small word for a lot of skill. Lippage, broken grout joints, off-center layouts, and leaky showers are all rookie mistakes. We laser our layouts, dry-fit complicated patterns, and waterproof every shower with Schluter or equivalent membrane.
Where we install tile
- Walk-in showers — curbless, with linear drains and tile-ready niches
- Bathroom and laundry floors with heated mats when requested
- Kitchen backsplashes — subway, mosaic, slab, herringbone, picket
- Fireplace surrounds and accent walls
- Entries, sunrooms, and mudrooms
- Patios and outdoor kitchens (porcelain rated for freeze/thaw)
How we set tile
- Laser layout to center on the focal wall, not the door
- Modified thinset matched to the tile type (large-format, mosaic, stone)
- Back-buttered large-format tile to eliminate lippage
- 1/16" or 1/8" joints depending on tile rectified status
- Stain-resistant urethane or epoxy grout in wet areas
- Color-matched silicone in every change-of-plane joint (industry standard)
Waterproofing
Every shower gets a continuous waterproof membrane (Schluter Kerdi, Wedi, or equivalent) over cement board. We never rely on cement board alone or paint-on liquid alone in critical wet zones. We pressure-test drain pans before tile goes down.
Timeline
A backsplash usually finishes in 1–2 days. A custom tile shower runs 4–7 days from demo to grout seal.
